Founder, Lymbic AI

The founders have always been fascinated by the brain, as they were keen to explore the controlling unit of our bodies wich defines our actions. Brain-Computer-Interfacing represents a technologycally approach to directly access and connect this powerful biometric resource with our digital environment. The founders are keen to bring to humanity the benefits of this exciting new technology, which will be significant on a level like the smartphone to operate as a (more direct) digital extension of ourselves.

Lymbic AI

The Emerging Neurotech Paradigm Neurotechnology is a rapidly expanding industry that seeks to empower humans with insights into the organ that governs our bodies — the brain. Lymbic AI is a service that will enable the next wave of neuro-applications by providing curated programmatic AI libraries to securely interpret brainwaves captured by emerging neural devices to use in real-time.

Bio

The founders have always been fascinated by the brain, as they were keen to explore the controlling unit of our bodies wich defines our actions. Brain-Computer-Interfacing represents a technologycally approach to directly access and connect this powerful biometric resource with our digital environment. The founders are keen to bring to humanity the benefits of this exciting new technology, which will be significant on a level like the smartphone to operate as a (more direct) digital extension of ourselves.

The founders combine innovation expertise from both world-class industry (Microsoft and Siemens) and academic (Imperial College London) institutions, next to domain knowledge through their MRes Neurotechnology studies. With Nikolaus in business and strategy development, based on his B2B sales expertise as team lead at GrapeData and Nathaniel’s software engineering career at Microsoft, Ripple and Circle, the team covers the mandatory areas to overcome any of the scientific, technological and commercial challenges Lymbic AI will face.

Pitch Deck

Problem

Common biometric security methods such as facial and voice recognition are becoming increasing more compromised by the emergence of deepfake attacks due to the acceleration of AI.
Deepfakes hack security systems by mimicking the underlying biometric paradigm of the respective method, the face or voice.

Solution

Lymbic AI analyses captured brainwave data from users through BCI technology and leverages them for multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Neuroprint, which relies on a person’s unique brainwave characteristics, is used as the security layer. This includes a calibration phase equivalent to scanning the finger at different angles to store the brainwaves on a device.
For Neuroprint, the MVP requires a calibration phase to capture and classify a users unique neural signal to an enrolled device. We use commercial available consumer electronic devices that have EEG electrodes embedded such as the Muse 2.

Business Model

Software licensing for access to the Neuroprint service. Tiered API model to allow different service levels. Sold with the hardware (consumer EEG device) both as a package and as a surcharge.

Competition

Scientific/academic expertise of each member of the broader founding team, as well as the founders’ industry expertise. Wide range of experience between full-stack software engineering, AI/ML scientists and product/business development. Expertise (biometric security) and scientific advice from the advisors. Our competitors include EEG hardware devices that may want to develop the same authentication paridigm, but their focuses have been primarily medical well being and meditation applications.

Traction

Our team has explored more than a hundred biometric security corporations and identified the major players. We are in advanced talks with Idemia and Thales. Live demos have been performed infront of representatives from financial insitutions to showcase prototype. $1,5m total ($1.3m left) is needed to get to MVP stage, patent our IP and scale up sales in the first year.

Looking For

DeepTech Investors with track record of helping scientific startups to commercialize their product. Advisors for our BD/Sales department with expertise in B2B AI/DeepTech startups. Distribution partners, so other startup founders in the biometric security space. NeuroTech/-science experts and enthusiasts that can help us grow the community and serve as evangelists for this technology.
